Whether you’re a single parent or a couple, we’re here to help. Our high staffing ratios ensure you receive the utmost support. We encourage parents to independently care for themselves and their children to provide accurate assessments. Each family has their own bedroom with an en-suite. There are homely shared spaces including a kitchen, lounges, playroom/nursery, dining room and laundry room.

Saanvi* was a mother-of-two for whom English was a second language. She also had learning difficulties and had been the victim of domestic abuse within the family. When her second child was born, the local authority was concerned that she would not be able to keep her safe and the plan was for the child to be adopted.

Mother and baby came to Victoria Villa for a 14-week parenting assessment, which was undertaken using the Parent Assess model. Her second child had been removed from her care as a result of the domestic abuse she had experienced.

Saanvi engaged well with the assessment and got to know the team well. The team in turn got to know Saanvi and her family well and it was clear her family were very protective of her and her children.

During the assessment process, Saanvi showed with simple explanations, pictures and other tools that she could understand, and demonstrate, how she could care for her children well and keep them safe. Halfway through the assessment, Saanvi’s older child returned to live with her. At the end of the assessment, Saanvi had shown that she could keep both children and herself safe with the support of her family. All three have returned to live near her family in the community.
