Aims and Values
At South Park we hold the values of Respect, Trust, Resilience and Tolerance at the center of everything we do and believe these values are key to meeting the needs of our pupils and developing each of them into happy, healthy and successful citizens.
South Park is committed to each and every one of our pupils, providing specialist support tailored to each individual’s unique needs, helping all pupils achieve their full potential. Young people often arrive at our school with negative perceptions of the education system, having experienced repeated rejection. We are dedicated to turning their experience of learning into a positive one.
What Sets Us Apart
As a registered independent education provision, we offer an alternative but comprehensive curriculum designed to provide consistency, continuity, structure, and clear boundaries for our pupils. The curriculum is constructed from four main strands tailored to meet the needs of our pupils: Core Academic (including English and Maths), Personal Development (including PSHE and citizenship), Vocational (including food tech, woodwork, horticulture) and Enrichment (including activity clubs and forest school). Our approach ensures that every student receives a broad and balanced education, tailored to accommodate a wide range of abilities for those aged 11 to 16.
The school is well equipped and set within purpose-built buildings. The main site enjoys a specialist food technology room, pastoral room, animal care room, spacious sports hall and outdoor MUGA, as well as a large number of classrooms. The school benefits from an Enterprise Centre situated within a half mile walk where pupils are offered a range of vocational activities including woodwork, bike maintenance, construction, horticulture, IT and art. In addition, the school leases five allotments from the Local Authority where organic vegetables (Soil Association certified) are grown. It also uses a local Forestry Commission site to delivery Forest Schools activities.
Areas of Expertise
South Park is a specialist SEMH setting that strives to meet the SEMH needs of its pupils. There is a bright inviting atmosphere ton the school with all classrooms being equipped with modern furniture resources and displays that celebrate success. The pupils are encouraged to take an active role in creating a positive and welcoming school environment. During the last year pupils have contributed to creating learning walls across the school.
Class sizes are small and there are opportunities for pupils to have individual teaching sessions, where appropriate, in response to their needs. The classes are usually made up of 4 or 5 pupils and the adult to pupil ratio varies from 1:1 to 1:2. Depending on the level of need. Pupils are encouraged to work alongside others within a classroom environment and co-operatively in pairs and small groups.
The school provides a number of SEMH and academic interventions according to need. These include ELSA, Lego Therapy, Talking and Drawing, Youth Mental Health First Aider, Talk About Teenagers, Bereavement Therapy, Restorative Justice That Reading Thing, Accelerated Reader, Read Write Inc,

We welcome referrals and enquiries from parents and local authorities. To discuss how Keys Education can support your child, please contact us using the form below or reach out to our admissions team directly.
Parents, carers, or local authorities can contact us to discuss the needs of the child.
We ask the person wishing to commission the placement (normally the Local Authority) sends over relevant information, such as, EHCP, previous school reports, professionals reports.
This allows us to conduct a thorough assessment to determine if we are the right provision to meet needs.
Once we feel needs can be met, we work closely with all parties to facilitate the placement process. If the Local Authority request the place, this is subject to funding being agreed at a panel meeting.
After admission, we provide continuous support to ensure the child settles in well and their needs are met.
