Our school offers day placements for children and young people, allowing them to thrive in a small, stable setting tailored to their individual needs. Welcome to Rivacre Brook School. We welcome pupils who have either been unable to maintain a place in a mainstream school or who are thought to benefit from a stable period in a small, supportive school environment. The school provides day placements for children and young people, and we are registered with the Department for Education.

We aim to create a positive and safe environment where pupils are nurtured educationally, socially, and spiritually.
What sets us apart from other schools
Rivacre Brook is a provision for 7- to 18-year-olds and is based across two sites: Rivacre Brook and Halton School.
Pupils
The young people who attend the school have special educational needs (SEN), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), or social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), and are between the ages of 7 and 18 years.
Areas of Expertise
We aim to offer all pupils a well-rounded curriculum in which, irrespective of academic ability, they can achieve high levels of success. In response to this, we offer a variety of wider curriculum activities, including weekly sessions of indoor wall climbing, high ropes, and therapeutic horse riding.
This programme enables pupils not only to develop new physical skills but also to build trust and positive relationships with others. We have also established links with the Police, TRFC, and Warrington Futsal.

Parents, carers, or local authorities can contact us to discuss the needs of the child.
We ask the person wishing to commission the placement (normally the Local Authority) sends over relevant information, such as, EHCP, previous school reports, professionals reports.
This allows us to conduct a thorough assessment to determine if we are the right provision to meet needs.
Once we feel needs can be met, we work closely with all parties to facilitate the placement process. If the Local Authority request the place, this is subject to funding being agreed at a panel meeting.
After admission, we provide continuous support to ensure the child settles in well and their needs are met.
