Part of the Keys Education family
It is a privilege to serve as Head Teacher at New Ways School & College and to be part of such a supportive and meaningful community of pupils, staff, carers, and families. Thank you for considering us as the next step in your young person’s educational journey.
Our pupils are among the most vulnerable in society, and we are deeply committed to helping them thrive. We aim to support them in building confidence and developing strategies to overcome the challenges associated with autism and other learning differences and disabilities, empowering them to achieve success in life. At the core of our approach is a school-wide positive behaviour model, which guides us in achieving two equally important goals for our pupils: excellence in both academic and social development.
Headteacher
Our vision is to create a vibrant, engaging, and safe learning community. We provide a warm and welcoming environment founded on trust, rapport, and expertise. In practice, this means:
What sets us apart from other schools
At New Ways School, we believe in offering every pupil a fresh start. This is a chance to turn previous negative experiences of education into positive ones. Our experienced educational staff provide targeted strategies, support, and solutions to address some of the most challenging behaviours and learning needs young people face.
Pupils
New Ways School is dedicated to pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, conduct disorders, attachment difficulties, global developmental delay, and moderate learning difficulties (MLDs). We use a therapeutic approach to help young people understand themselves, connect with others who have similar needs, and navigate the wider community. We also work closely with external agencies, including CAMHS, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, social workers, and Barnardo's, to further support our pupils’ well-being.
New Ways School & College provides tailored support for pupils with Autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties and disabilities, focusing on fostering their academic, social and emotional development.
Areas of focus include sensory integration strategies, social skills training and executive functioning support to help pupils manage time, focus and self-regulation.
The school prioritizes emotional well-being through therapeutic interventions under the direction of the company’s internal Education psychologists and specialist advisors relating to substance misuse, self-injurious behaviour, exploitation, harmful sexualized behaviour as well as having staff trained in Youth Mental Health. By integrating these resources, New Ways creates an inclusive environment that empowers pupils to thrive.
Specialist Therapeutic Education: Our highly trained staff work closely with pupils to address their unique challenges.
Tailored Learning Environments: We create customised learning plans that align with each pupil's needs.
Comprehensive Curriculum: In addition to following the National Curriculum, we offer a variety of vocational and physical education programs.
Family Support Services: We provide extensive support to families to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil's education and well-being.

Mark H, ParentI can’t thank Keys enough for the care and support they’ve provided for my daughter. The staff are always attentive, and they genuinely listen to her needs. She has made amazing progress in both her education and personal growth, and I see a brighter future for her every day. Keys has truly changed our lives for the better.
We welcome referrals and enquiries from parents and local authorities. To discuss how Keys Education can support your child, please contact us using the form below or reach out to our admissions team directly.
Parents, carers, or local authorities can contact us to discuss the needs of the child.
We ask the person wishing to commission the placement (normally the Local Authority) sends over relevant information, such as, EHCP, previous school reports, professionals reports.
This allows us to conduct a thorough assessment to determine if we are the right provision to meet needs.
Once we feel needs can be met, we work closely with all parties to facilitate the placement process. If the Local Authority request the place, this is subject to funding being agreed at a panel meeting.
After admission, we provide continuous support to ensure the child settles in well and their needs are met.
