Practitioner Induction & Development
Keys Practitioners work with children, young people and families to achieve positive and sustainable change in their lives. The practitioner is offered training and development to support a career in social care. Prior to commencement of role, the practitioner is offered a 5 day blended learning programme and a prescribed programme of training is scheduled for the probationary six month period. All practitioners are offered an L3 or L4 apprenticeship programme depending on their area of work to cover all the core skills required for the role. We also offer additional L4 qualifications to senior practitioners.
Mandatory Courses and Renewal Criteria
As well as a comprehensive 5 day induction; new staff are offered a full range of eLearning courses from our partners “The Training Hub” In addition, staff are offered f2f courses in First Aid and Team Teach. Additional support and training is delivered via webinars as a group session or one to one session. Attached is a copy of the mandatory course and renewal criteria schedule.
Specialist Courses. In addition to the mandatory courses, staff can access training from the Specialist Support Teams who deliver, CSE; County Lines and Gangs training; Self-Injurious Behaviour, Substance Misuse and Missing from Home. We also have clinical specialist teams who deliver attachment and trauma training and other psychological interventions training. All other requirements are sourced externally or are provided through the training hub. This is dependent on the needs of the children and young people we support.
Management Development
Keys Group offer a comprehensive induction and Management Development programme that supports career development and succession planning which is in line with the company’s ethos and company strategic plans. Managers will hold or will be prepared to complete an L5 regulatory vocational qualification, depending on the area of work.
We employ a Management Development Lead to oversee the ongoing development needs of all of our Managers. In addition, we offer a 12 month, L6/L7 Future Leadership Programme for Service Managers to further enhance their management and leadership skills and prepare them for more senior roles.
Learning & Development Governance
Compliance is monitored and reported on by the L&D team on a monthly basis to the group board and quarterly to the clinical governance board. Staff teams maintain their own training matrices to include all the specialist requirements, the L&D department maintain training matrices for the mandatory courses.
