Specialist Therapeutic Education: Our highly trained educational specialists work with young people who have challenging or complex needs, including emotional or behavioural difficulties and mental health challenges.

Tailored Learning: We cater to pupils who may have struggled in mainstream schools and offer a supportive environment for those at risk of being a child missing education (CME), vulnerable due to learning or mental health challenges, or at risk of being criminalised or permanently excluded.

National Curriculum: Our schools follow the National Curriculum, covering core subjects such as Literacy, Numeracy, Science, and ICT, along with vocational subjects, humanities, citizenship, PSHE, and physical education.

Bespoke Learning Experience
For over 28 years, Keys’ specialist schools have helped children gain
confidence and achieve qualifications. Yet, with increasing numbers of children struggling to access education due to emotional, physical, or mental health challenges, school avoidance, or repeated exclusions, we knew something had to change.That’s why we developed ALFA — to provide an inclusive, flexible, part-time learning option for every child and to re-engage them back into an appropriate education environment.

Outdoor Education with Peak
Through our partnership with Peak, ALFA offers adventure activities that are carefully designed and delivered by experienced professionals in outdoor education.
Peak’s team works closely with ALFA to ensure each activity is tailored to the specific needs of our learners, offering a balance of challenge, enjoyment, and personal growth.

Flexible Schedule and Support
Before a child begins working with ALFA, we will work with them, their families, carers and the professionals around them to gather the information we need to best meet their needs.
Using that information, we will develop an individualised timetable which supports their interests and abilities as well as their ambitions and goals.
Admissions Process

Step 1: Initial Enquiry
Parents, carers, or local authorities can contact us to discuss the needs of the child.

Step 2: Assessment
We conduct a thorough assessment to determine the best fit for the child within our homes.

Step 3: Placement
Once a suitable home is identified, we work closely with all parties to facilitate the placement process.

Step 4: Ongoing support
After admission, we provide continuous support to ensure the child settles in well and their needs are met.
