A talented young person from Westways Residential Home is celebrating winning a number of medals after competing at the ISF World School Inclusive Games.
Millie* was delighted to be selected to represent England at the exclusive World Games held in Portugal last month. The world-wide event saw young athletes from around the globe come together to compete in a variety of sports. Millie was proud to represent her country taking part in Boccia, Goalball and Athletics, which included a 100m heat, long jump and shot put where England were placed 2nd, 3rd and 2nd respectively.
The ISF World School Inclusive Games provides young people with the opportunity to participate in international sport, and together with competing, young people live with other students from different countries where they promote and enrich the spirit of inclusion. The games are open for able-bodied students, those with special educational needs, as well as those with disabilities. The International School Sport Federation (ISF) is recognised by the International Olympic Committee, and promote the values and interests of Education through Sport.
When asked about her experience, Millie said that she had a great time taking part in all the activities, and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the England team.
