We often underestimate the vital support our excellent Education staff and services provide to very troubled children – it sometimes takes an frank and honest letter from a parent to remind ourselves how good we are!
Below is an extract of a recent letter of thanks from the parents of M – no further comment is required!
“Just a thank you for everything you did for our son during his 3 years at the Grange, M came to you as a very troubled 11 year old, in the 6 years at school including a specialist autistic resource, he spent at least 2 years been home schooled and another 18 months in expulsions, he came to you unable to properly read or write, getting numbers and letters mixed, at least 3 years behind in school years, a child who when put into a situation he could not deal with would kick, headbutt, gouge, nip, spit or try to punch his way out and worse case scenario would throw or hide under furniture.
At the beginning the first few months he had his ups and downs in fact even into the beginning of the second year he had meltdowns or reactions to situations but you kept faith with M and persevered with him through rough and smooth, he now has and is a fine young man off 14 who can get through awkward situations without violence he can turn the other cheek, his work is up to date and has surpassed our wildest dreams, his general behavior and demeanor means he can go on trips with not only school but ourselves which a few years ago could not have happened without a promise of reward or such like, we cannot thank you all enough for the patience, help, guidance and tuition for M. As parents we were overjoyed when M was allowed to stay in the Keys Group and go to Park House to further his educational needs, in a easy transition for him to move forward in life”
